CHANA DAL VADA
Dal vada is an age old recipe and in most households made on all occassions. Diwali, navratri, birthday, weddings and all almost all pooja offerings and sathi (elaborate lunch) feature the vada. Vada is a crispy yummy snack mostly made from udad dal , chana dal or a combination of many dals.

I made the chana dal vada as an offering to the Lord. Enjoy the recipe. Simple and quick

Chana dal 1 cup
Red chillies 3-4
Green chillies 2
Curry leaves 8-10
Hing/asafoetida 1/4 tspn
Rice 2 tsp
Urad dal 2 tsp
Salt
Oil

Soak chana dal for 4 hours. Grind all the ingredients to a coarse paste.Do not add water while grinding.Take 2 spoonful of ground mixture and pat on a butter paper or in your palm.
Deep fry vadas to brown colour. Cook on medium flame and ensure the vadas are cooked well inside.
